National Skills Week 2016 is only one hundred days away, with this year highlighting the abundant career opportunities available through Vocational Education and Training (VET).
The VET sector is establishing itself as the primary vehicle to lead students onto rewarding career pathways and future studies.
Vocational qualifications, available through TAFE’s, registered training providers or private training providers can be the starting point to a life long successful career. While it can be an entry point leading to further higher education, it can also be the starting point for those with an entrepreneurial mind, looking to start their own business.
Vocational qualifications offer practical and hands on experience, with courses delivered by the very best in their field.
National Skills Week 2016 will celebrate the opportunities inherent in the VET sector with hundreds of events to take place nation-wide hosted by a line-up of supporters that range from Industry groups, TAFE’s, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), businesses and schools.
Students, careers advisers, Industry associations, parents and training professionals will be in attendance, rallying support for VET, and spreading the word on its importance in enriching Australia’s workforce and economy.
National Skills Week will kick off its National launch in Melbourne on August 24th with a cocktail function and various skill and trade demonstrations at the Queen Victoria Markets, followed by launches in many states and territories. We encourage you to host your own event during National Skills Week or attend a National Skills Week event or launch function, in support of the skill, trade and vocational training sector.
