Apprenticeships Victoria (AV) is here to enable a whole new type of apprenticeship. We’re offering life-changing opportunities to young Victorians just starting out in the workforce. We’re also here for people who are looking to reskill and make a fresh start in their careers.
There are many great opportunities for apprentices and trainees who are keen to be involved in Victoria’s Big Build, the biggest and most exciting infrastructure projects in our state.
We oversee and coordinate the employment and training of apprentices and trainees, particularly on these Big Build projects, including North East Link and the New Footscray Hospital.
A new division of DET
A new division within the Department of Education and Training, AV was announced in the 2020/21 Budget, alongside Big Build Apprenticeships (BBA).
AV is a partnership between the Victorian Government, major project employers and the TAFE and training system. We’re delivering more job opportunities for apprentices and trainees looking to start a career in the construction and infrastructure sector. We’re also responsible for broader apprenticeship policy and programs.
