Coffs Harbour High School will be hosting a Primary Industries, Come and Try Day. The day is open to the public and; students from years 7+8, years 9 +10 agriculture classes and year 11 VET students.

The day celebrates National Skills Week 2019 by showcasing the skills and applications of Primary Industries within our local region and beyond. Students will learn career pathways that can be pursued through following Vocational Education. The day will practically demonstrate and allow students to get involved in some of the aspects of Agriculture and Horticulture that are available to students within this region and beyond.

Guests will have access to come and try a range of different Primary Industries related activities to give further knowledge and insight to further their education in Primary Industries. Activities that will be run on the day include; Sheep Husbandry, Chicken Handling and Egg Collection, Rabbit Handling, Sheep Mustering, Plant Propagation, Potting Up Plants, Citrus Harvesting, Banana De-Leafing, Assisted Tractor Driving, Erecting and dismantling a fence, Preparing and Cooking a BBQ and salad from the produce grown at the school farm and short Horticulture Quiz and prizes.
