Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is an ambitious institution, with expertise and growing impact across technology and innovation.
With more than 50,000 students across two inner-city campuses in Brisbane, QUT offers academic programs in fields spanning business, creative industries, education, engineering, health, law, science, and social justice.
In 2024, QUT and TAFE Queensland signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), formalising a partnership between the two institutions which included a focus on batteries and renewable energy. A key outcome of the partnership was the new TAFE Centre of Excellence – Clean Energy (Batteries), which will fast-track higher and degree-equivalent apprenticeship pathways for development and delivery. The Centre, supported by federal and state government investment, will assist Queensland as a skills leader in clean energy battery technology and training.
With nearly 50 articulation pathways available to TAFE Queensland students across courses from each of the five QUT faculties, the QUT-TQ partnership and the development of additional pathways over time will contribute greatly to Queensland’s pipeline of skilled workers in emerging industries.
