National Skills Week 2016 saw eleven Australian Training Awards Alumni speak at National Skills Week state launch events and in high schools across the country to promote Vocational Education and Training and their success within the sector.
Each Alumni spoke about their journey through the Australian Training Awards, their passion and commitment for the sector and the opportunities available through vocational training.

  • Jessica Taggart – Runner-up 2012 Australian School-based Apprentice of the Year, at the NSW launch of National Skills Week at Southern Cross Catholic Vocational College, Sydney NSW
  • Mark Hardy – Runner-up 2014 Australian Apprentice of the Year Award, at Newman Senior College, Port Macquarie NSW
  • Sandra Gillanders, CEO, Hy-Performance Fluid Power, 2015 Small Employer of the Year, at the QLD Launch in Brisbane, QLD
  • Joshua Dales – Finalist 2015 Australian Apprentice of the Year Award, at the TAS Launch in Hobart, Tasmania
  • Sebastian Barkoczy – Finalist 2015 Vocational Student of the Year at St Edmunds College, Canberra ACT
  • Taylor Fishlock – Runner-up 2015 Australian Apprentice of the Year Award at Palmerston Senior College, Darwin NT
