National Skills Week 2016 was launched in NSW on Monday 29th August at Southern Cross Catholic Vocational College (SCCVC) in Burwood, by the Hon John Barilaro MP, NSW Minister for Regional Development, Skills & Small Business.
Founder of National Skills Week and SkillsOne CEO, Brian Wexham hosted the event, which enjoyed speaking appearances by Principal of SCCVC Patrick O’Reilly, Australian Training Awards 2012 runner-up Apprentice (Trainee) of the Year Jessica Taggart, and a fashion show by hair and beauty students from SCCVC.
The evening’s proceedings celebrated many skills and trades that make up the Vocational Education and Training sector and featured skill displays by staff and students from SCCVC, including childcare, carpentry, hospitality and more!
