Calling all school students looking for the right career path, all parents, grandparents or carer’s hoping to give your child the best opportunities after high school and all teachers who want to see their students start off on the right foot. The free Skills and Thrills Careers Showcase, held in the Evans Theatre is the perfect event for you.  It will combine film, music and outstanding career information delivered in an innovative way.

Hosted in conjunction with the 2017 Western Sydney Apprenticeship and Traineeship Expo and supported by the NSW Department of Industry and TAFE NSW, join SkillsOne at Panthers Penrith on the 29th August, 2017 to find out the latest information on all your career needs.  These two events provide a one stop, careers shop!

Through the careers showcase, you will learn how to connect your passion to a career pathway, the variety of opportunities available through vocational education and training (VET) and where the jobs of the future really are.

With three session times to choose from, including 3:30- 4:00pm, 4:30- 5:00pm and 5:15- onwards, each show is an engaging action packed half an hour filled with music, film, theatre and ambassador stories, that will provide you with all the information you need to know, to find the right career path.  Please note the 5:15 showcase, is directed towards information for parents, grandparents and carers.

Join us to hear from a variety of ambassadors within the VET sector and learn about the opportunities that exist through apprenticeships and traineeships.

Tyrone Pynor, VET Alumni member, Australian Training Awards School-based Apprentice of the Year finalist and Skills and Thrills guest speaker, has recently completed a Certificate II in Business Services, through a school-based apprenticeship with the National Australia Bank.

Completing his apprenticeship while still in high school, has given Tyrone opportunity to gain skills and experience across all aspects of banking services. He has gained practical experience in professional expectations, gained confidence and has had the opportunity to demonstrate his leadership skills in the workplace.

Impressing his supervisors with his attention to detail, approachability to customers and staff, and his commitment to excellence, Tyrone is a positive ambassador for the vocational education and training sector.
