August 28th – September 3rd, 2017

National Skills Week is the focal point for the promotion of Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It seeks to improve the standing and image of VET while highlighting the talents, diversity, benefits and career pathways associated with VET.

The central thrust of National Skills Week is that it provides the motivation for all stakeholders, be they Career Advisors, Industry Associations, Registered Training Organisations (RTO) or Private Training Providers to do something that promotes VET and the successful outcomes it achieves for the individual, industry and importantly the Australian economy.  The week seeks to mobilise, inform and inspire Australians of all ages to explore the skills that industry needs to advance Australia’s competitiveness and global opportunity.

Since 2011, SkillsOne has driven National Skills Week, supported by Australian Government. With next year its seventh year, the week will continue to be a celebration of the diversity and opportunities for Australians of all ages in skilled and trade areas.

The theme for 2016 New World, New Vision, Your Future, embraced the diversity, passion and energy of the sector, and importantly highlighted the emerging areas of opportunity for work of the future.
