Singleton High School is hosting a Parent Information Evening – The Future of VET – Apprenticeships and Employment in the 21st Century in the Hunter Valley.

The purpose of this evening is to celebrate National Skills Week through highlighting theĀ  career pathways possible through VET as well as educating parents on the potential of vocational education. The event is aimed to: prepare and upskill local students to be ready for careers of the future.

Presenters on the evening will include; Regional Development Australia, Pennant Aviation, HunterNet Group Training Organisation, local business, Department of Industry and teachers. Topics discussed will cover: employment in the Hunter, aviation industry careers, Boeing workforce requirements as well as the Royal Australian Air Force. Parents and students will be able to hear from Jetstar apprentices, as well as the Training Awards winner in Health to hear true stories of individuals who have succeeded in their career through vocational education.
