Event Date: August 26th, 2019

The Primary Industries and Hospitality High School students will be working with students from Stages 4 and 5 to celebrate and create awareness of the vocational education programs available at Uralla High School.

This will be done through the Primary Industry and Hospitality senior students, mentoring and educating the younger grades on the process of meat production to create food. The students will prepare a lamb and pig into specific cuts of meat which will be prepared for eating with additional ingredients grown in the schools garden. This will be created into lunch for the school community including foods such as; shephard’s pie, pulled pork buns and steamed pork buns.

Each day in the week will represent a different stage of the paddock to plate process from animal boning, to the production cooking line and preparation of food and on the final day a shared lunch for the school community.

Through educating students on the “Paddock to Plate” production process this assists in highlighting the different vocational education programs that the school has available and discusses the careers that can be created through these education programs.
