As part of National Skills Week (28Aug-1 Sep) Newman College will be undertaking a Year 11 ‘Skills Expo’ on Thursday of week 7 (31 August).

All students will be involved in skill-based activities throughout the day – half of the year will be undertaking a WorldSkills School competition which serves as qualifiers for the Regional Comps in term 4, while the remainder will select skills activities. The day will be an opportunity to recognise some of the great skills on show at this Senior Technical College.

Guest speakers will address an assembly in the morning and include Gaby Ware, our local Skillaroo who will be competing in hairdressing at the 44th WorldSkills International Competition, to be held in Abu Dhabi, October 14 to 19.
